FAQ Glossary

An organization, agency or entity that is not utilizing the PubSafe portal for command and control. 
A PubSafe user which is not in responder status. The default role.
Contact Manager
A list of org members contact information, notes and communication which is only available to the organization(s) they join. A user may choose to limit the information shown in the contact manager.
Data Transmission
In order for the PubSafe mobile app to work, the phone must be connected to a cellular network with a data service. Almost all normal civilian communication is subject to this limitation. Governments know how important cellular communication is during an emergency so it is a priority to get it restored.
A list of contacts, organizations, agencies and entities which are not utilizing PubSafe for command and control. Any org member with access rights can add an account or contact to the directory. PubSafe users are added by default but can opt out or limit the information displayed. PubSafe organizations are included by default and may not opt out of the directory. 
Emergency Request
A life and death situation or where substantial property loss may be realized. An emergency request should be for the most time-sensitive issues.
Event (Org)
Organization events are events specific to an organization. An org event might be a training exercise or a local search and rescue operation. Org events are not seen or shared with other organizations.
Event (public)
An event is a significant and recognized situation such as a hurricane, flood, wildfire, or mass casualty event. Events are generally in the national and international news.
Government ID
This field is to enable government organizations to validate users before dispatching or when joining an organization. It is not displayed on the mobile map, only in the portal to all organizations.
Help Request
A non-life-threatening request for assistance. The definition can change based on the quantity and severity of global help requests and emergency assistance requests during a disaster. A priority help request may be downgraded to a lower priority during a major disaster with a large number of emergency requests.
